AMERICAN IDOL – And Then There Were 4
I 've always loved John BonJovi's music and I think it has a lot to do with the fact of still being able to hear in my mind….my daughters singing the songs when they were teenagers:) He's still fantastic and looks amazing…..and presented the contestants with sound advice that will help them tremendously, as they travel down their musical road.
I am so amazed at how Phil has grown into the performer he is, from when he first began. I was saddened that he was voted off last night. Actually, I think he was a week too early in having that happen. However…..his final performance was exceptionally outstanding. The way he connected with each member of the audience ..and that he shook hands and gave a hug to the judges, shows what kind of gentle man he is. I am so looking forward to hearing him on country radio. I have no doubt that he will be offered a recording contract, once the year of touring with the AI finalists has passed. The depth, strength and vocal ability that Phil has will take him far. Of that I have no doubt!
I knew Jordan would be safe, although her performance of "Living On A Prayer" was just terrible. You'd never guess that she was the phenominal Jordan of past shows. This is one genre she better stay as far away from as possible.
Lakisha gave a very soulful performance and it was the best she's done in weeks. She definitely shined….However, one performance does not an American Idol make and though she has a beautiful voice, she is limited to the types of songs she can sing, she seems to never select the right one and I really thought she would be eliminated this week....I was wrong this time, but I have a feeling that next week, she may not be so lucky.
What can you say about the unique ablity of Blake? :)) He was daring in making the song his own with his phenominal sound effects. I loved his rendition of "You Give Love A Bad Name."
I was not at all surprised that Chris was voted off. Compared to the other 5, it was a no brainer. Except for one performance that I can remember really enjoying, there was nothing special or unique about him and his nasal sound…..oh I apologize. I meant to say…his deliberate nasal style of singing….lol drove me completely up the wall. I kept wanting to say to him…..just blow your nose already…..lol
Melinda to me is a true American Idol and I agree with Simon 100% when he stated that she is in a league by herself. Every single week, she has come up to the plate and performed a song, regardless of genre and done a fantastic job! She knows what she can do, she knows her limitations., and her song choices fit her perfectly! For someone who thought she couldn't pull off singing rock, she became a "Rocker Babe" last night.
